Sky Sports, which broadcasts the Premier League in the United Kingdom, has named three targets for Manchester United’s transfer market this summer.
However, Kim Min-Jae is not on the list.
The trio are striker Harry Kane, midfielder Declan Rice and midfielder Mason Mount, also a midfielder, according to Sky Sports. “Mourinho wants to see them in the dressing room next season,” it claimed.
United’s bid for Kane has been one of the biggest stories in European football this year. The Red Devils have been struggling for a target man, commonly referred to as a ‘number nine’. With a year left on his contract at Tottenham, many are predicting a move for Kane, who has been out of favour for more than a decade.먹튀검증
Kane is approaching 30 years of age, but is likely to be in his prime for another four to five years. However, with Tottenham expected to hold on to Kane this summer, with the possibility of him becoming a free agent next summer, it will be a challenge for United to secure him.
Tottenham are thought to be the favourites to secure his signature, with a price tag starting at £100m.
Rice and Mount are both England internationals who would bolster the midfield. Rice, 24, born in 1999, currently plays for West Ham United and has one year left on his contract, making a move this summer highly likely. The Hammers have made several offers to extend his contract, but Rice has repeatedly turned them down for one reason or another, so the Hammers have given up.
His place in the England squad is well established, having started all five games at last year’s World Cup in Qatar, playing four of them full-time. He can play in both central midfield and defensive midfield. As such, the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are poised to make a move for Rice.
Rice’s 1999 classmate, Mount, is an attacking midfielder who can play further forward. He played four games at the World Cup, but with Jude Bellingham in the same position, his place in the squad is not as firmly established as Rice’s. However, he has recently lost out in the race for a place in the Chelsea squad and is more likely to be sold this summer than re-signed.
The Sun also reported on the 25th that “Man Utd have joined the race for Mount”.
“They want all three, but depending on how the club’s ongoing M&A pans out, they could get all of them or just some of them,” Sky Sports reported.
However, the absence of a defender, let alone Kim Min-Jae, from the list of players United want, makes us wonder what Turnbach’s intentions are. Kane and Rice are expected to cost in excess of £100m, while Mount is a much more expensive option, with a price tag in the region of £50m.
However, Sky Sports seem to think that United’s need for defensive reinforcements is not urgent.
