Lotte Giants ‘spectacles ace’ Park Se-woong suffered a loss despite pitching four consecutive Quality Start+ games.
Park Se-woong started the seventh game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against the KT Wiz at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on the 6th, giving up two runs on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts.먹튀검증
It was a clean start. In the first inning, he struck out the leadoff batter, Kim Min-hyuk, to start the game. He walked Ahn Chi-young to load the bases, but struck out Kang Baek-ho and Park Byung-ho, KT’s vaunted left-handed batting duo, in succession to end the inning.
The only error of the day came in the top of the second inning. After giving up a walk to leadoff hitter Jang Jang-woo and a single to Hwang Jae-gyun to put runners on 1-2, Lee gave up a single to Lee Ho-yeon. With two outs and no one on, Park flied out to right field, but the runner from third crossed home plate to make the score 0-2.
However, Park settled down quickly. He did his job well, holding the KT batsmen scoreless until the sixth inning. He mixed his fastball, which reached 150kmph, with a variety of other pitches, including sliders, curves, and forkballs.
It was his fourth consecutive Quality Start+ before SSG on 19 May (6 innings, 1 run), NC on 25 May (7 innings, no runs), and LG on 31 May (6 innings, 1 run).
However, the Lotte bats were unable to get past KT ace Ko Young-pyo. They received only one run support before Park Se-woong was replaced in the top of the seventh inning with a defensive start.
Lotte had a chance to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth with runners on first and second, but a wild pitch by Ko Young-pyo scored one run and left Jeon Jun-woo and Jack Rex stranded at first and third in the ensuing inning.
Park eventually took his second loss of the season despite a strong outing, ending his three-game winning streak in starts. Lotte also started the week on a disappointing note, falling to KT 1-4 and dropping their second straight.
