The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) announced that it plans to leave head coach Shin Tae-yong in charge of the national team until the end of this year.
According to Antara News Agency on the 26th (local time), PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nushi met with reporters the day before and said, “We will maintain the new supervision system,” and “guarantee the contract period, which is at the end of this year.”
He added, “The new coach will start preparing for the U-20 Asian Cup to be held in Uzbekistan from March.” 먹튀검증
Since 2019, Shin has been in charge of both the Indonesian national team and the under-23 (U-23) and under-20 (U-20) national teams.
Under the leadership of Shin, Indonesia achieved results such as winning the 2020 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup runner-up, advancing to the 2023 Asian Football Federation (AFC) Asian Cup finals, and advancing to the 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup.
Indonesia’s FIFA ranking rose from 179th to 151st.
However, in the AFF Cup held earlier this month, public opinion worsened as they stayed in the semifinals, caught by Vietnam, led by coach Park Hang-seo.
Indonesian fans insisted on terminating the contract with Shin and replacing him with coach Park Hang-seo, who is leaving Vietnam.
Indonesia hosted the U-20 World Cup to be held in May. Because of this, national interest in football is great.
