The National Sports Promotion Corporation (Chairman Cho Hyun-jae, hereinafter referred to as the Corporation) announced that it had a soccer-specific Smart Air Dome completion ceremony in Cheongun-dong, Gyeongju on the 30th to encourage soccer players’ domestic field training and promote the local economy. This is the first time in Korea that a smart air dome for soccer has been installed.
A total of 300 people attended the Smart Air Dome completion ceremony, including Chairman Cho Hyun-jae, Second Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cho Yong-man, Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young, National Assembly member Kim Seok-ki (Gyeongju City) and Gyeongju citizens.
The Smart Air Dome completed this time was carried out as a public contest by local governments in 2020 as part of the ‘Battery Training Specialized Facility (Air Dome) Installation Support Project’ promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Corporation. Gyeongju City was selected as the first project site, and construction began in December 2021 and went through a construction period of about a year. The total project cost is 10.7 billion won including 5 billion won from the National Sports Promotion Fund (1 billion won for provincial expenses and 4.7 billion won for municipal expenses).
The Smart Air Dome was built as the largest air dome in Korea with a total area of about 25,000㎡ (air dome 10,000㎡), and is composed of an international standard indoor soccer field, sand practice field, spectator seats and office space. The air dome is a facility that can be used regardless of the season and the external environment such as fine dust, as the fiber roof is maintained by air pressure and an automatic air purification and cooling/heating system is installed. 먹튀검증
In particular, the ‘Smart Air Dome’ can be maintained for more than 4 hours even if the inflow of air is blocked, and it is evaluated as a safe facility by introducing an automatic control system that automatically operates the blower and lighting equipment in case of an emergency.
Chairman Cho Hyun-jae said, “Congratulations on the completion of the Smart Air Dome installed in Gyeongju for the first time in Korea, and we expect many soccer players to conduct comfortable training regardless of the season.” We will do our best to make it possible,” he said.
Meanwhile, ‘Smart Air Dome’ will be officially opened in April after a two-month pilot operation period after the completion ceremony, and will be installed in Changwon, Gyeongnam, Chuncheon, and Goseong, Gangwon.
