Napoli legend Edinson Cavani has promised fans that he will definitely return to the club one day.
The Uruguayan striker is a legendary attacker who played for Napoli from 2010 to 2013. He scored 104 goals in 138 appearances and was a key part of Napoli’s attack.토토사이트
He later left Napoli for Paris Saint-Germain in a €64 million ($91 billion) deal, making him a big-money transfer for the club. Despite only spending three years at Napoli, fans remember Cavani as one of the best strikers in the club’s history.
However, he didn’t win a league title with Napoli. At the time, Napoli was a mid-table team, and league supremacy had passed from the Milanese brothers to Juventus.
After not winning a league title since the 1989/90 season, Napoli is finally back at the top of the league after 33 years. This season, under head coach Luciano Spalletti, they won the title with a commanding 18-point lead over second place.
According to Football Italia, Cavani spoke to DAZN to congratulate his hometown team on the title.
“Napoli’s win was a great moment. Everyone went crazy. It was what happens when a team that is not used to winning fights hard. The fans needed those great emotions, too.”
He also expressed his desire to return to Napoli one day.
Cavani started by saying, “Every time in my career has been fantastic, but Napoli was special because of the culture of the team. I had to compete against stronger teams, and I enjoyed competing against teams from northern Italy to achieve historic goals,” he says of his time in Naples.
“I couldn’t come back to Napoli because of family issues, but I will definitely come back one day,” he promised, adding, “For sure. My sons are Napoli fans. They cry when Napoli misses the league or is eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.”
Cavani added: “My sons were born and raised in this city that has given me so much. They know the Napoli chants. I only remember one, but my sons tease me because they know new chants and songs,” he added.
Cavani, meanwhile, left Manchester United this season to join Valencia in Spain. He was an attacking ace at the start of the season, scoring in three consecutive league games, but hasn’t scored in the league since December of last year.
